Jose Antonio Font established Font International Corp. in 1987, first engaging in construction, and evolving into real estate development and the planning and financing of projects and enterprises.
Between 1991 and 2004, Font participated as advisor and / or principal in the startup and expansion of some forty operating entities and real estate projects. Font also served as Chief Executive Officer of Camacol Loan Fund, Inc., a Community Development (Non Bank) Financial Institution regulated by the US Department of Treasury, managing four capital funds.
He has held senior management and ownership roles in Washington World Gallery, Inc., Cafe de Artistas, Inc., Hammerhead Construction Corporation, REM Capital, Inc., Deskgate Technologies, Inc., and American Capital Partners, LLC, a U.S. Department of Treasury certified Community Development Entity.
In tandem and parallel to his business career, Mr. Font worked to advance representative democracy and the free enterprise system in the Americas, and was involved in the founding of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Washington Ibero American Chamber of Commerce, the Hemispheric Congress of Latin Chambers of Commerce, the Institute for Democracy in Cuba and the Alliance for Democracy.
Jose Antonio started his professional career as a Community Economic Industrial Planner / Loan Officer with the Small Business Administration, Washington District Office, in 1973.
Mr. Font holds a Bachelors Degree from the School of International Service (SIS) in International Business and Economics, and post-graduate studies in International Finance and Development Banking from The American University, Washington, DC., 1973.
